Taking a look: Nihon First video!

Hey everyone,

This past week I went to Aeon Mall & took you with me to get a overlook of some of the cosmetics as well as snacks.  Although most of the video is voiced over because I wasn't suppose to be filming.  :P I probably would have talked but I did go to the mall on a week day at night so it wasn't crowded.  (Weekends it's crazy packed especially every Sunday, it's like the holiday rush) There we workers stocking the shelves & it would have been too obvious if I went walking around with a camera talking.  So all the footage in the actual mall was recorded from my phone.  For future videos I don't plan on doing that.

Aeon mall is a fairly large mall.  There are 3 levels filled with stores from clothing, an arcade, restaurants & a theater.  Also they have H&M which is actually the first one I've been too.  There is a Lush as well as a GAP.  What I showed you was just a small section of the mall.  But I hope you enjoyed the first video of many.  Over time the way the videos are put together will improve upon trial & error.  So please bare with me.  Below are some of the things I picked up as well as pictures of displays.  I'll report back later about the hair spray as soon as I had tested it enough.  Please feel free to let me know if there is something you are particularly interested in seeing in future videos.  Maybe I will be able to get some footage.  :) Until next time I will talk to you all soon.

K-Palette tattoo liner. The last one only in brown though.

Meiji one of my favorites! They make yummy chocolate candy.

Cream Collon, if you are familiar with their Japanese to english translations it doesn't always end up saying what they mean.  Meant to say Cream cone.  Meiji Strawberry Kinoko no yama (mushroom mountain) & strawberry apollo.

Kao Liese Iron Make Collection Rich curl.  Meant to heat protect & hold your curl when heat styled without making your hair feel crunchy.  They have one for when you straighten your hair as well.  Tested it out & so far so good.

In my Red Soles...

Hey everyone,

So I'm always thinking of new ideas & coming up with new projects.  This is something that I have started months ago when I moved here.  I'm not sure about you but I love Louboutins!  A pair made a small appearance in my first Shoe of the month video.  I would wear these shoes & take a picture of where I would go as a little self project.  Of course not every place, like me going to Taco Bell or at the convenient store but you get what I mean.  The first photo I took & I have to say it took me a while to get the perfect shot.  Not only was I the photographer but I was int he picture as well. When it comes to anything art related I alway need to make the end result exactly how I see it it my head.  Yes it's definitely time consuming but I love it.

So on to the project.  Just now, a few moments ago I decided to start posting "In my Red Sole" post.  They are on my personal FB but I thought I would share it with all of you.  This is another way I could bring you along with me from place to place in Japan.  I hope you'll enjoy this.  If you want to please join me in this little project (You don't need to wear CL's) wear what ever you'd like :). Here are my first 2 pictures.  The first was taken myself & the 2nd my husband took.

Falling for fur this Fall (faux of course!)

Recently received a VS e-mail I went to check out some of the fall clothes they had.  Where I come from there are no seasons & I always wished we had seasons so we could wear all the fun clothes.  In love with coats I came across this wool cap with a hood & faux fur around the rim of the hood.  This is going to be a must for me.  Are you falling for fur this fall (or winter)?

Cannonball!!!!

As I briefly talked about this mascara in a previous post I wanted to dedicate a post to this mascara.  My lashes are lengthy but don't' naturally curl.  I have tried numerous mascaras as well as heating my lash curler & eventually buying a new one.  But having no luck with keeping my lashes curled I'd stopped using mascara all together.  Except for the occasional special events.  When I did my makeup I would simply just curl my lashes or add falsies.  The main reason I'd curl my lashes everyday weren't for the looks it was because my eye doctor told me they scratch the surface of my eye.  That was more of a reason as to why I wanted to find a formula that would hold my curl.  Only recently, several months ago to be exact, did I start giving mascara another go.

I hadn't found anything & in the beginning of this year I moved to Japan.  This was a great opportunity for me to test out japanese formulas.  The first one I purchased was Fairydrops Volume Burst Mascara.  It was the only one left besides one other tube but it wasn't in black.  Excited, I tested it out twice & immediately stopped using it because I noticed by the next time I took the wand out the mascara clumped around the whole brush.  Not knowing how long the mascara was sitting out on the shelf I stopped using it.  Disappointed I wanted to buy a brand new tube in the Fairydrops Platinum waterproof mascara instead.  Checking several stores around my area I couldn't get a hold of it.

Summer had started & I was really into waterproof products.  So I had a tube of Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara sent to me.  The first time I used it I was very surprised.  When applying some mascaras my lashes start to loose it's curl after applying a couple coats.  But it locked in the curl & held it there.  Honestly I was completely shocked & believed it was all thanks to the japanese formula that's in this wonderful tube.  I absolutely love everything about this mascara.  The brush is long but the bristles are short making it easy to get mascara on your lashes & not you skin.  And of course it's waterproof!  I'd definitely recommend this to anyone.  Down below are some pictures as well as a comparison next to another mascara as well as the fairydrops :(

Kawaii Nail Tutorial

I haven't posted a nail tutorial on my channel as this is my first.  The blog post was late & I hadn't realized it till now.  Since I have posted the actually video on September 1st.  It's tutorial was a spontaneous decision.  As far as how often nail tutorials will be posted I'm not sure.  What I do know is this simple design was inspired by fall trends (polka dots) as well as kawaii (cute) things you see in Japan.  The color choice is what really brought that japanese feel to it.  A combination you may not really choose to pair with each other.  Here's a list of items use as well as a picture of the design.

Products used:

Sally Hansen:
-Double Duty base & top coat
-Hard as Nails #340 Mint Sorbet
-Complete Salon Manicure #520 Shrimply Devine
-HD #16 Laser

Tools:
-Toothpicks
-Scotch Tape

Failed attempt of filming & a new makeup tutorial

This past Thursday I wanted to start filming my new series.  The first place I wanted to take you to was Daiso to take a look at some things (since I needed to pick a few things up).  I recorded a intro as well as us driving most of the way there but failed getting to the actual store.  It was quite busy which meant no parking.  My husband spun around a few times when I finally said let's go home let's try again on the weekend.  We had to take care of a few things & just didn't have the time to go.  Although I did get to make my way down to Daiei.  I decided not to film though because they were closing off the makeup section.  We did buy food which was the main reason we went there.  None the less I didn't get the footage I planned to share with you.  I'm a bit disappointed but I am uploading a tutorial as I type.

It came about one night when using the UD palette to see what kind of look I could come up with.  I ended up with some thing that I really loved.  It was fun, colorful & very sparkly.  Maybe a bit too much for some of you but it can definitely be toned down.  Unintentionally is became 3 looks in one tutorial mentioning a couple times through out the video.  The first being a neutral look.  The second one I had added color onto the lid as well as a colored liquid liner.  The last was of course the finished look where I had added color to my lower lash line.  All the products I used are listed down below as well as pictures.

Products used:

Urban Decay:
-15 year palette
-Cannonball mascara

Make Up For Ever:
-HD Foundation
-HD Powder
-Aqua Liner #8

MAC:
-Paint pot in Chilled on Ice
-Blanc Type eyeshadow
-Viva Glam II lipstick
-Kissable lipcolour in Enchantee
-Studio Finish concealer

Too Faced:
-SunBunny

Featured on Beautylish!

I posted a review about my favorite mascara, Urban Decay's Cannonball.  Having a very difficult time finding mascara that holds my curl.  I had high hopes for this mascara not only because it's from Urban Decay (which by the way is one of my fav brands)  but something just told me I'd have to look no further.  When I tested it out I was amazed that my lashes stayed curled the whole time I was wearing it.  This is truly my holy grail mascara.  It's also a japanese formula which I love!  So thank you Beautylish for featuring me as this hasn't been the first.  But I'm ecstatic to see me featured along with all the other beauties.  Look out for a small battle of the mascaras (Japanese formulas) I will put the UD Cannonball to the test.
